Homemade Baby Food

Today was a stormy and rainy day.  After I ran a few errands I had a long list of things I wanted to make.  I had gotten some Rhubarb from my parents house so I looked to find recipes to use it in.  I found a recipe for baby food (on my favorite baby food website.)  I had to try it and luckily I had everything in the house to make it.  Click here for the recipe.  It is called Very Peary Berry Rhubarb and trust me it is really good.  I used the apple juice option instead of sugar.  I did not know how Mallorie would like the "sour" taste but she LOVED it.  and when I tried it was not nearly as sour as I thought it would be.  I also make Pear and Peach baby food for her.  Now my freezer is stocked!

Wordless Wednesday

I love the positions that babys can sleep in.  This is what I found on Saturday when I checked on Mallorie during a nap!  It is like she was sitting up and just fell asleep and leaned over.  (notice the untied crib bumper?  She is starting to get into EVERYTHING!)

I was always looking outside myself for strength and confidence, but it comes from within. It is there all the time.

Will Power Wednesday

It is Tulip Time here!  and that means (for us locals) JUNK FOOD! There are a lot of elephant ear, cotton candy, corndog, sausage, french fries, and even deep fried candy bars.  I am Dutch Dancing downtown every night and so far I have refrainded from eating any of it.  My trick is that I do not carry any cash on me so I can not paid for it.  I have really been watching what I eat but I dont know if I can not give in.  If I could choose one thing I think I would have to go with cotton candy or maybe a corndog.  I hope that I can hold off and not give in but I will let you know how it goes.

(I wish I could tell you that I took these pictures but I got them from the Tulip Time website)

So I am updating my post and I am here to tell you that I held out... I did not eat any junkfood.  We were going to get some on Friday night after my last time dancing.  Brad and his mom came with Mallorie to watch me dance.  But from the time that we got there at 7:20 until 8:00 when we dance it got really windy and about 20 degrees colder.  It was so cold that we had to get a new blanket for Mallorie from a baby boutique we were dancing near to keep her warm. (Mom of the year here did not bring a sweater or blanket for her.  I just figured it would stay warm!)  Because it was so cold and yucky out we just left after I danced we wanted to get Mallorie in the warm car and back home.  In a way I am proud that I held out!

Tuesday Tip

I will have to admit that I wish I could take credit for this idea but I cant.  I got the idea from another blog.  We keep most of our chargers in one drawer of out desk but I love this idea...it just would not work on our desk.  Here it is:
Binder Clips...who knew.  To get the cord into the binder clips all you need to do is pinch the top of the silver clip part together and you can slide them out of the black part.  Then just slip your cord in and pinch it back into the black part.  I just love this simple solution to a problem.  I hope that you will be able to use it.

Thirsty Thursday

MiO water enhancer allows you to make your drink in your own way. The word MiO can be translated from Spanish or Italian as “Mine.” Right now, MiO has six delicious flavors: Berry Pomegranate, Strawberry Watermelon, Fruit Punch, Mango Peach, Sweet Tea and Peach Tea. Each MiO bottle gives you approximately 24 servings.

I personally have not tried these but they are on my shopping list.  Have you tried them?
